2022 will be a year of evolution for the appARTEngo festival: from Basilicata, the event format will reach all Italian regions to create a network of villages that choose to focus on public art.
From Stigliano, in Basilicata, a caravan of artists will reach every Italian region. A 6-month journey that will bring over 100 Italian and international artists to create site-specific works on the territories of the inland areas, destined to become assets of the cultural and tourist offer of the places involved.
A common thread will connect all communities from south to north to create a network of territories that choose art as a vehicle for local development.
"Ideally, we would like to unite communities in a collective and participatory dream that looks at art as an opportunity to re-read ancient worlds, in which the spirits of the times are encapsulated, and where our origins lay, enclosed in squares, churches, and altarpieces. For a long time, the sound of the party was missing, the trumpet that says 'our' community. The past is there waiting around the corner asking us to come together in order not to get lost."

The selections will be made by the Artistic Direction and by the curators of the project.
Deadline to apply is December 15, 2021.
The results of the selections will be announced by January 31, 2021.
If selected, you will receive all the necessary information for participation.
From June to November 2022, our caravan will stop in every Italian region, staying for e period of one week in each community.
